Allhiphop claims that they got word that Old Dirty Bastard has collapsed and died in the studio.

According to sources, Wu-Tang Clan member Ol’ Dirty Bastard passed away today.

While details are sketchy, sources told AllHipHop.com that the rapper collapsed and died in a Manhattan recording studio.

The nine members of the veteran rap group were scheduled to appear tonight at The Theater at the Continental Airlines Arena for their first joint East Coast appearance in five years.

I don't know how true this is since I haven't heard any info from any other site but AllHipHop and sometimes AllHipHop can be suspect with their shit but if this is true then it fucking sucks. Anyways I feel like I should post up some mp3's if he's dead and if he's not dead well fuck it, download that shit anyways.

Well fucking crap, now MTVnews is confirming the story. So it looks like this shit is for real, fuck. According to MTV ODB was complaining of chest pains earlier in the day. I know he had gotten pretty heavy but I didn't think he had to worry about heart attacks or anything. But who knows, this is ODB so anything is possible.

That was yesterday but by now I and most of you have heard the news and this shit is for real, the dirtiest motherfucker in the game is gone. What sucks is that this shit hits a lot more home than when any other rapper died. I was never a big Tupac or Biggie fan. When Jam Master Jay died I felt bad but man ODB? Why? Homeboy did live a pretty fucked up life but man the last thing I expected was for him to pass away. The man destroyed peoples perception of what hiphop music was suppose to sound like. I mean fuck, Wutang's first album changed what I thought this music was suppose to sound like but ODB just abolished everything. He came at you hard as fuck. No one could hold the man down, shit he couldn't even hold himself down. His whole style and way of living was just raw as fuck and unapologetic about it. No matter what ODB kept it real and there is a lot to be said for that. Some folks might hate or think he had this coming with all his flaws but thats bullshit. It takes a certain amount of courage to live your life according to your own rules and just not give a fuck what society thinks. ODB was one of the most charismatic people in this game and he will be missed. People like him don't come around very often in this world. The man made you love him, flaws and all.
