Steve Kroft speaks rap

So tonight I was watching 60 minutes where they featured the Dixie Chicks and their latest attempt to comeback from the conservite backlash. Half way into the segment Steve Kroft says the word "disses."
In fact, Emily and Martie could not be more supportive of their lead singer. They share her politics, and back up her candor — even when she disses country music, which has been their bread and butter.I laughed but at the same time I think I was offended that 60 minutes is now stealing the rapspeak that I so treasured as a young boy. Who does Steve think he is? I learned rapspeak from listening to many hours of rap and here he comes galavanting around with his goddamn "newsman" status and just starts tossing out rap words like it's nothing. I hardly doubt that Steve has ever uttered the term fresh or even word how dare this man just assume that he can use rapspeak so carefree. What is next for Steve? Telling George Bush he got "sonned" by Colbert?
As a young boy rapspeak was so dear to me. It was a language that was only understood by rap people. It was like a code that my mother could never decifer. Nevermind she didn't really understand english to begin with but rap allowed me to tell my mother how wack dinner was in a secret code. Sure she just told me to shut up and eat before she had to smack me but still it was so cool. And now people like Steve fucking Kroft just start tossing that shit around. I'm sure his mother never asked him if he was talking about drugs when he said something was dope. He never sounded like an idiot calling his friends son or kid. Did he learn about new york by watching rap videos? I think not. How dare he flaunt his rap speak.
sorry, I wrote this thinking it would be funny but it's just dumb. The idea that I was mad at Steve Kroft for saying the word diss just seemed funny to me when I thought of it so I ran with it but in the end the execution fucking sucked. Oh well I'll still post it up.
