Intoxicated – “Burn It Down” (Oomp Camp, 2004)
The story goes like this. “Burn It Down” has long been a minor crunk classic but so minor that nobody really bothered to put an mp3 of it on the internet. Yesterday I found a CDr single of it, instrumentals and accapellas and all, at a flea market in a footlocker full of porn, empty Geto Boys CD cases and bootleg copies of Don’t Mess With The Zohan. (You already know how I get down) Except when I turn it over tragedy struck inevitably and it was scratched well beyond the point of playability. But all is not lost because I went home and found out that some kind souls at the Oomp Camp have finally put it on Amazon, as part of this great 37 song deep Oomp compilation, which is essential for anybody who gives a fuck about Atlanta rap. The album is sort of blended, which is frustrating. So if you are holding that actual, unmixed version (or the instrumental!) you know how to reach me.
Truly one of my favorite rap songs ever. constantly on the search for a physical copy of this
