My friend Cory is working with the Bernal Heights library to put together this series of people presenting records and the memories behind them. This is the third one so far and it’s pretty dope. They are also working on getting these stories online in a podcast format as well. If you’re interested in attending or presenting peep the event page. I think it’s a dope idea and the net is wide so it goes beyond crate nerds and includes any and all genres and ages.
At last – here is the sequel to our 2009 mix, “Record Haterz”. This mix project was created using recordings culled from some of our favorite old bay area rap cassette tapes. Enjoy a mix of obscure heat and classic grooves, perfect for the whip or on the go. Warning: EXPLICIT Language! CDs/Cassettes available soon…

I ripped my copy of this tape. The word is that this version is a dub that some dude made about 100 copies of the original. Same dude added the artwork. Track listing doesn’t make sense either. The the whole tape is about 60 minutes and those times don’t add up. Anyways I ripped my copy. This is a mixtape, other versions of this Memphis Massacre album are just that, an album. I don’t know how many versions of this there are but I’ll bump this shit anyways. I didn’t bother breaking up the tracks, it’s just two long mp3’s at 320 that still sound like janky tape rips.
I ripped this so you can download it
this song is fun
A Titpig song I never heard on spotify much less
Between this and When The Sun Took The Day Off, that Beneath the Surface cd got hella play from my ass in 1999. I miss dudes getting weird and rapping like a motherfucker.
